When you look at Merida, a few things stand out at first. Perhaps the most iconic thing about Merida’s physical appearance is her hair. Merida is known for her bright orange, thick head of hair that is overflowing with curls. To ensure you don’t mess up what is arguably her most important feature, you should start with her wig and build the rest of the cosplay around that. Her greenish-blue dress can be found at any thrift store, or you can buy one online. Just make sure it is ankle length and has long sleeves. 

To top off the dress, you’ll need a tan belt to war around her waist. You will also need a pair of light brown boots to match the belt and tie together her ensemble. Accessorize your Merida costume with an arrow necklace, and then turn your attention to her weapon. Merida fights with a bow and arrow, so you’ll need to track down a costume version of this weapon. You’ll also want to find a quiver for the arrows that you can wear around.
